Charles O’Meilia Scholarship

The Building Officials Association of Palm Beach County has awarded the Charles O’Meilia Scholarship for over twenty years, a fact of which we as an association are very proud. The scholarship is open to a resident of Palm Beach County, attending or planning to attend college full time and majoring in Architecture, Engineering, Construction or Public Service.

The Scholarship is $1000 and is automatically renewed for up to 3 additional years provided the student maintains the eligibility requirements. To continue receiving the scholarship, the recipient must maintain a 3.0 or better grade point average, send a letter and copy of their current transcript to the BOAPBC stating they are continuing their education and declaration of their major.

We raise all the scholarship funding locally, and as a result, we seek to award the funds to local worthy students. At this time, there is an available scholarship opening, which we plan to award to a single Palm Beach County student for the upcoming 2027-2028 scholastic year.
